My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Five reasons why you should eat more turmeric and curcumin.

Store aisles are lined with supplements, all claiming to provide a range of health benefits. While certain supplements fulfill their promises, others fall short. Ask a health expert and you’ll learn that one of the most powerful supplements you can take for your health is turmeric.

Responsible for curry powder’s bright yellow color, turmeric is essential to many of your favorite Indian and Asian dishes. But it's not just the flavor and color that sets turmeric apart. The main active ingredient found in turmeric is called curcumin. This compound gives turmeric its amazing reputation.

For thousands of years, these spices that you use to flavor food have been valued for their medicinal properties. What’s the big deal about turmeric and curcumin? Read on to find out.

Calm Inflammation

Inflammation plays an important role in your body’s immune response. When foreign invaders work their way into your body, the immune system activates. Inflammation kicks in, and the damage done by those foreign invaders is repaired. Sometimes, however, unwanted inflammation occurs in the body. As a result, your immune system attacks healthy tissue. This can lead to disease.

Fortunately for you, turmeric has an anti-inflammatory effect. For this reason, a turmeric supplement may help relieve the pain and inflammation of conditions such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. As with any medication, talk with your doctor before taking new supplements.

1. Curcumin helps keep the lining of blood vessels healthy. Damaged blood vessels are a major contributor to problems with blood clotting and blood pressure regulation.

2. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of curcumin benefit the heart and reduce risk factors for heart disease.

Boost Brain Health

More research is needed, but animal studies show the spice may increase levels of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). This gene is involved in neuron development, memory, and learning. Low levels of BDNF are linked to mental health conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and depression. If curcumin does indeed have this effect, it may help slow the progression of brain diseases and age-related cognitive decline. It may even reverse these common issues.

Prevent Cancer

Anything that may prevent or treat cancer is worth more research and attention. While there are many cancers, studies show some may be affected by curcumin. The powerful compound may kill cancer cells, slow the growth of blood vessels in tumors, or limit the spread of the cancer. It may even keep cancer from developing in the first place. While more research is necessary, these potential benefits could have significant implications.
