My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

What does it mean to be healthy? Obviously, it means being free from chronic diseases, living without pain, and having a strong immune system that fights off illness. But humans are complex creatures, and so is our health. When it comes to overall health, don’t forget to take into account your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Studies have discovered what factors contribute to a person’s overall health. While genetics and the environment play important roles you can’t control, there are several lifestyle habits that are common among people who enjoy good mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

You know you need plenty of exercise and a well-balanced diet for a long and healthy life. But if this is all you do, you’ll never enjoy optimal health. For that, you’ll need to follow the example of healthy people and adopt their lifestyle habits. What do the healthiest people do?

Drink Lots of Water

Plain old water is the beverage of choice for healthy people. The perfect drink for hydrating your thirsty cells, water has no calories or sugar, but it still helps you feel full. Compare that with drinks that contain added sugar. They may taste great, but they’re also associated with weight gain and type 2 diabetes. Don’t care for plain water? Add a lemon or lime slice for flavor. Try drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day for improved overall health.

Get Enough Sleep

You may be truly alive when you’re awake, but don’t underestimate the value of a good night’s rest. Though you may feel sleep forces you to be unproductive, it’s vital for health and wellness. Quality sleep supports a strong immune system, improves memory and focus, lowers your risk of disease, aids in weight maintenance, keeps your appetite in check, and improves your mood. Make it your priority to get seven to nine hours of shut-eye each night.

Quit Smoking

The toxins in cigarettes are linked to numerous chronic health conditions. From cancer and lung disease to stroke and heart disease to diabetes and a weak immune system, smoking causes them all. Fortunately, it’s never too late to quit. As soon as you do, your body starts repairing damage. Talk with your doctor for help quitting.

Spend Time Outdoors

Fresh air, sunshine, and being in nature are good for your overall health. Soak up vitamin D to boost your immune system, get some exercise, unwind away from the busy city, and take a break from technology to relieve stress and improve your health. When you return to your office, you’ll feel refreshed and have greater focus for the task at hand.

Learn a New Skill

Healthy people never stop learning and being creative. They set goals and work toward them every day. Staying mentally engaged is good for the health of your brain. Take up a new hobby like painting, knitting, or carpentry. Sign up for a dance or photography class. Learn a new language or instrument. You may find a skill or passion you never knew you had.

Practice Positive Thinking

Your attitude and state of mind affect your overall health. Stress, pessimism, and selfishness are harmful to your health. Being optimistic about the future, grateful for the little things, generous to those in need, and kind to others will reap health benefits. So turn that frown upside down and take a step toward whole health.

Have an Outlet

You may not realize it, but stress has a negative impact on every aspect of your health. Since you can’t avoid it, learn to manage it before it gets the better of you. Set aside time for relaxation and fun. Spend time with the people you love. Escape with a good book or movie. Go for a hike or bike ride. Learn healthy ways of managing negative emotions. Where can you start? Journal, find creative outlets, or talk with a therapist or trusted friend.
