Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

Success Stories
David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Becoming a Better You

What bad habits do you wish you didn’t have?

Habits are those things you regularly do or practice that are hard to give up. Everybody has them. You’ve been doing them for so long that they’re just a part of your everyday routine. While you may not notice them, when you go without them, you feel like something’s missing.

There are all kinds of habits—some healthy, some neutral, and some harmful. Healthy habits include things like brushing your teeth, exercising, eating meals together as a family, and going to bed at a decent time each night. Routine, neutral habits might be things like making your bed each morning, doing laundry on the weekend, or calling your grandma every Sunday. (Actually, that last one is a good habit.) Then come the bad habits.

Of course, everyone has a bad habit or maybe two or three they wish they could give up. Do you have any common bad habits? Take action today to put them behind you.

Too Much Screen Time

Technology is a part of your life, and it’s here to stay. But how much time are you spending staring at a screen each day? Likely way too much. You may wonder what the big deal is about too much screen time. There are many problems with excessive screen time. Here are a couple.

When you’re on the computer, phone, or watching television, you’re sedentary. In other words, you’re not being physically active. Not impressed? Screen time also reduces the likelihood that you’re using your brain to be creative. On top of that, you’re missing out on meaningful interaction with those around you.
Want to quit? Turn off unnecessary notifications. Set time limits for time-wasting apps. Make a competition with a friend to see who can use their phone the least.

Or get cheaper phone service. You may find the slower speeds make you like your phone a little less.

Eat When Stressed

Do you turn to food to help you cope with negative emotions such as stress, anxiety, boredom, or depression? You may not be hungry, but food helps you feel better about life for a minute. Unfortunately, as soon as you’re done eating, the feelings remain. This type of eating is a common cause of weight gain.
Want to quit? Learn healthy methods of managing stress. Turn to exercise, meditation, friends, or a hobby to help you deal with negative emotions. Only eat when you’re truly hungry and when you’re sitting at the table.

Biting Your Nails

You may bite your nails without even thinking about it. When you’re bored, nervous, or stressed, it just happens. Unfortunately, it’s probably happened since you were a kid, so it’s a tough one to break.

Nail biting exposes you to bacteria, isn’t attractive, can damage your teeth, and can deform your fingernails. Maybe it’s not such an innocent bad habit after all.
Want to quit? Replace your bad nail biting habit with another behavior. Exercise, chew gum, or call a friend. Reward yourself for going a day or week or month without biting your nails.

Many people follow the bad example of their government and spend more money than they earn. Debt is a burden that causes stress, depression, and relationship tension. If you have a credit card, you can always pay it off, right? You may feel like you need to drive a new car, have the latest technology, or go on fancy vacations. However, your bank account may tell another story. Listen to your bank account!

Overspending is a common bad habit that comes with serious consequences. Despite what you think in the moment, none of those consequences are worth the momentary pleasure you get from spending.

Want to quit? Tear up your credit cards. Make a written budget to see how much money is coming in, how much is going out, and where it’s going. Then stick to your budget. This may mean eating out less, shopping less, and reevaluating priorities.

Skipping Sunscreen

Even just one bad sunburn in your life increases your risk of developing skin cancer. You may want a tan, but it comes at a high price. Too much sun exposure not only contributes to skin cancer, but also ages your skin by destroying the elastic fibers that keep you from wrinkles, age spots, and discoloration.

Want to quit? Use a daily moisturizer that contains SPF. Keep sunscreen in your car or purse so it’s readily available when you need it. Use a self-tanner instead of sitting in the sun.
