Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

Success Stories
David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Unreliable Remedies

Cancer treatments you can’t trust.

A cancer diagnosis raises many questions. What kind of cancer? What stage is it? Can it be treated? What’s the prognosis?
You hear the doctor’s answers and as you try to process the information, you may question the answers you get. So you go out on a limb.

You know medical treatment for cancer typically involves surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, but are these methods really the only proven way to treat the cancer? You hear of the potential horrible side effects, and you wonder if there are unconventional or even experimental treatments available that could eradicate your cancer cells in a less painful way.

Yes, there are alternative cancer treatments and some may make a difference. Others, however, are not worth trying, as they aren’t backed by legitimate science. Beware of the following cancer “cures” that make big promises but aren’t worth your time, effort, or money.

Ozone Therapy

Alternative medicine uses ozone to treat a variety of medical conditions. This gas is believed to disinfect treated areas, improve oxygen circulation, and stimulate your immune system. It’s also used to stop the growth of cancerous tumors. The only downside is that at this moment in history, ozone therapy hasn’t yet proven unsuccessful and may actually cause dangerous side effects.

Alkaline Diets

Cancer cells are known to die in an alkaline (low-acid) environment. So, if you were to avoid highly acidic foods (such as grains, meat, and cheese) and only eat foods that lower your body’s pH level (such as fruits, vegetables, soy, beans, lentils, and dairy), alkaline-diet advocates claim the cancer will stop growing. As hopeful as this premise is, the theory doesn’t hold up. That’s because foods don’t affect the acidity of your blood. Additionally, just as cancer cells don’t survive in an alkaline environment, neither do healthy cells.

Also known as laetrile or vitamin B-17, amygdalin comes from apricot pits, nuts, and plants. When ingested, it turns into into cyanide, a poisonous chemical that is believed to target and destroy cancer cells. The fact is, amygdalin doesn’t cure cancer, because it doesn’t have the ability to pinpoint cancer cells. It attacks whatever cells it comes in contact with. The end result? Potential cyanide poisoning and even death.

Cannabis Oil

While illegal in many states, there’s a lot of hype these days about cannabis oil. Derived from marijuana plants, this oil is thought to reduce the size of tumors and kill cancer cells. Cannabis oil can be combined with cooking oil, mixed into food, or placed under the tongue, and some people inhale its vapors. Though a hip treatment method, science doesn’t support the cancer-fighting claims of cannabis oil. That said, cannabis may relieve negative side effects of certain cancer treatments, taking away nausea and vomiting. Just be careful, as it may interfere with the effectiveness of cancer drugs.

Black Salve

Have skin cancer? You may be tempted to treat it with black salve. A cream that’s made of zinc chloride, sanguinarine, and herbs, black salve claims to be a natural, safe, and effective way to target and kill skin cancer cells. The truth is, black salve harms all skin cells it comes in contact with while leaving the deeper cancerous cells untouched, allowing them to spread to other organs in the body. Side effects may include infection, scarring, and disfigurement.

Vitamin C

Years ago, early studies showed large doses of vitamin C were beneficial for eliminating cancer cells. Subsequent studies proved such findings false, yet somehow vitamin C continues to be recommended as an alternative cancer treatment. At the moment, new research is studying intravenous vitamin C, to determine whether it may improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation. More studies are needed, but for now, vitamin C doesn’t seem helpful in the fight against cancer.
