Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Your Diet on a Budget

Because eating healthily doesn’t have to break the bank.

According to research, living in poverty increases the risk for obesity. Why is there such a strong connection between your wallet and your waistline? There are several hypotheses. One of the most powerful is the fact that junk food is often cheaper than healthy food. On top of that, poorer regions often have less access to fresh, whole foods. People on a tight budget who live paycheck to paycheck are always looking for ways to cut corners. Unfortunately, they often look to save money at the grocery store.

The good news is that you don’t have to be wealthy to eat healthily. You can do it without going into debt. Just remember that while you may save a few dollars here and there by eating junk food today, tomorrow’s bad health can be costly.
Looking to give your diet a healthy boost without zeroing out your bank account? Incorporate these money-saving tricks the next time you go grocery shopping.

Compare Prices

You may love your grocery store for its gleaming floors and convenient pharmacy, but those perks have a price. And you’ll pay the full price at the register. Help your dollar go further by shopping around. Compare prices of the foods you eat on a regular basis. Online grocery shopping makes this easy. Open internet tabs of two to three grocery stores and find the cheapest option. Then buy from that store.

Get Generic

These days, you can find generic options for most foods. They’re usually the same quality and similar taste. They just cost less. Buying generic is one of the easiest ways to save on your grocery bill. On average, generic foods are 30 percent cheaper than their name brand competitors. It may initially hurt your pride to buy generic. But you’ll be overflowing with pride when you realize how much easier it is to keep your waistline in check.

Choose Less-Processed

In many cases, the less processed a food is, the cheaper it is. Also, when buying larger quantities, you get more servings per package. A bag of beans is much more cost effective than canned beans. A block of cheese costs less than a bag of shredded cheese. Tea bags cost less than a gallon of tea and a container of oatmeal is cheaper than a box of cereal. You get the point.

Shop Smart

Before heading to the stores, plan your meals for the week. Check your refrigerator and cabinets for what you have on hand, and make a list of what you need. Have something in the cabinet that’s collecting dust? Use it before it expires.

If possible, don’t go grocery shopping when you’re hungry. Otherwise, you’ll be tempted to buy whatever looks good. When you get to the grocery store, stick to your list. If cookies, chips, and sodas aren’t on your list, don’t buy them. If they are on your list, take them off.

When your pantry staples go on sale, stock up with however much you can eat before it expires. Also, in-season fruits and vegetables are typically cheaper. Save money by not buying pears in the summer, watermelon in the winter, or squash in the spring. Produce is usually cheaper in the frozen section.

Make Your Own Meals

It’s not as simple as throwing a frozen pizza in the oven or warming up a microwave dinner, but you can save a lot of money and eat healthier by making your own meals. There are plenty of simple, healthy, budget-friendly recipes anyone can make. You don’t have to be experienced in the kitchen to learn how to cook.

By preparing your own meals, you save money and know what is in your food. Make large portions for leftovers later in the week when you’re tired and tempted to grab fast food.
