With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Mosquitoes, Be Gone!

Rid your yard of mosquitoes the natural way.

Forget about sharks, snakes, or even humans. Mosquitoes are the world’s deadliest animal. Because of the diseases they transmit, mosquitoes are responsible for more than 750,000 deaths a year.

You may not live in an area of the world where malaria, dengue fever, or West Nile virus is a problem, but the pesky mosquito may still keep you from enjoying time outdoors. Every time you step outside, mosquitoes buzz in your ears and bite you, leaving you with itchy welts. You wish you could sit on your porch, have cookouts on the deck, or play in the yard with the kids, but the mosquitoes are just too much.

If this sounds like you, don’t give up rights to your yard. There are steps you can take to keep mosquitoes at bay. Here are a few to try.

Make Them Feel Unwelcome

Look around your yard. Do you see toys, buckets, gutters, pet water bowls, or bird baths with standing water? If so, get rid of the water. That’s where mosquitoes lay their eggs. With no water around, mosquitoes can’t multiply as fast.

Mosquitoes are most active in the evening and night. During the day, they like to hang out in plants and trees. Trimming your bushes and keeping your grass cut short may make mosquitoes look for another yard to inhabit.

Plant These Herbs and Flowers

Certain plants repel mosquitoes, gnats, and flies. Planting a few of the right herbs and flowers around your yard or in containers on your deck is a natural way to repel unwanted pests. Surround yourself with basil, lemongrass, peppermint, rosemary, dill, and lavender. Prefer flowers? Try common lantanas or marigolds.

Invite the Bats

Bats love to feast on mosquitoes. In fact, one brown bat eats up to 1,000 mosquitoes in an hour! Attract bats to live in your yard by hanging a bat house on a tree or pole. Bats like warm homes, so place the box house facing south or east. This will ensure the bat home will get six or more hours of sunlight each day. Help the home absorb heat by painting it a dark color.

Spray on the Repellant

Bug spray makes you unappealing to mosquitoes. You can make your own, buy sprays made with natural ingredients, or buy sprays with DEET. To do it yourself, mix together a quarter cup of witch hazel, a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar, and 20 drops of an essential oil. Good options include citronella, eucalyptus, lemongrass, or rosemary. Pour these ingredients into a spray bottle and spray on your skin before heading outdoors.

While there are several active ingredients in bug sprays, DEET is the most effective. Spray DEET repellent on your exposed skin and clothing. When used as directed, DEET is considered safe for everyone over two years of your age. When you come inside, wash it off your skin and clothing.

Hire the Professionals

To make your yard a comfortable place to hang out, you may want professional help. Pest control experts can spray your yard to treat mosquitoes. Just be cautious about who you hire. Look for a pest control company that uses a natural mosquito spray. You don’t want to use mosquito repellents that contain pyrethrins and pyrethroid pesticides. While effective, these chemicals may harm bees, butterflies, ladybugs, caterpillars, and other bugs you want around.
