My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

The foods you should eat to boost your energy levels.

It’s a common complaint. You have a lack of energy, which makes you feel tired or drained. Sometimes, medical testing is needed to rule out health conditions associated with fatigue. Most of the time, a few simple lifestyle changes may be all you need to put the pep back in your step.

You know you’ll feel tired if you don’t sleep well. You know you feel better after you exercise. But did you know that your diet plays a large role in your energy levels?

Diet is an often overlooked cause of fatigue, but it makes sense that it’s closely related. The right foods provide energy. The wrong foods, on the other hand, leave you feeling drained. When deciding what foods to eat to fuel your body, focus on complex carbs, protein, and healthy fats. These nutrients take longer to digest. As a result, they keep your blood sugar stable, fill you up, and provide long-lasting energy.

If you’re tired of feeling tired all the time, consider adding the following foods or drinks into your regular diet and see if they make a difference.

Eggs

Whether eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack, eggs are a great way to boost your energy. Providing a complete protein of all nine essential amino acids, eggs are rich in nutrients and healthy fats that satisfy hunger and keep your blood sugar stable. Since one egg only contains 70 calories, it’s hard to go wrong with them.

Quinoa

Quinoa is a whole grain that’s gained popularity the past few years. And for good reason. It’s one of nature’s superfoods. With more protein than all other grains, quinoa is a complex carbohydrate that’s packed with nutrients. This combo is just what you need for an energy boost.

Walnuts

Omega-3 fatty acids are one type of healthy fat that provides a great source of energy. When you need a pick-me-up snack, try a handful of walnuts or a trail mix that includes walnuts. Nuts are fairly high in calories, but they’re also filling, so you don’t need to eat many to feel satisfied.

Chicken

When planning meals, be sure to include a source of protein like chicken. Trimmed of its skin, chicken is a lean protein that’s low in saturated fats. It’ll fill you up and won’t slow you down. Grilling or baking is the healthiest way to prepare it.

Coffee

There’s a reason so many people drink coffee in the morning to help them wake up. It works! The caffeine in coffee is a natural stimulant that increases alertness and boosts your energy. Depending on what time of day you feel drained of energy, a cup of coffee or tea may do the trick. Just be careful. Drinking caffeine late in the day may interfere with your sleep and worsen your fatigue. Also, avoid heavily sweetened coffee or tea. It may kill your energy levels, since sugar causes your blood sugar to spike and crash soon after.

Water

Feeling sapped of energy during the day? It may be due to dehydration. Without enough fluids circulating in your body to carry nutrients and remove waste, you’re likely to feel dragged out. Avoid this by drinking water throughout the day. When you’re feeling in a slump, down a big glass of ice water to see if it perks you up.
